BBI Had Three Amazing Opportunities to Give Back!

BBI participated at the Sheridan House Spring Auction, Back on My Feet Earth Run, and was a guest at the Joe Rose Show.
When we say we are actively involved in corporate philanthropy, we mean it. Last week we supported some great local projects in South Florida.

BBI at the Sheridan House Family Ministries Spring Auction

After two years of being postponed because of safety measures due to the pandemic, the 41st Annual Sheridan House Family Ministries Spring Auction was back on April 22 at their headquarters in Davie, FL.

BBI sponsored a table at the event, which offered food, a silent auction, performances, and games. The event was very well attended, and all the proceeds collected  helped children and families in our community.

Sheridan House is a multifaceted ministry dedicated to helping families from Residential Boys’ Homes, Single Mom Ministry, or their Counseling Centers.

Back on My Feet Volunteer Appreciation and Earth Day Community Run

On Saturday, April 23, we joined Back on My Feet on their fun "Volunteer Appreciation and Earth Day Community Run." We began with the famous morning circle, where we meditated, stretched, and went running with volunteers and the Back on My Feet members.

The run was approximately 3 miles, and everyone from the Broward community was invited to participate. The Bimbo group sponsored the run and shared some delicious goodies at the finish line. We enjoyed the morning listening to some of the encouraging stories from BoMF alumni and current members.

Our BBI Team is proud to support Back on My Feet for the second year in a row and its mission to combat homelessness through the power of running, community support, and essential employment and housing resources.

Our CEO Robert Taylor Was a Special Guest at the Joe Rose Show

Also on Saturday, April 23 at 10:00 am EST, BBI participated for a second year as a co-host at the “560 The Joe WQAM, with Joe Rose.” Our CEO, Robert Taylor, George Barbar, and Theodore Lyons – an actual homeowner from Habitat Broward and head coach at Douglas basketball team came together to speak for two hours on this popular sports radio morning show. This exciting opportunity was mainly because of Robert’s generous donation to the DCC (The Dolphins Challenge Cancer) and its partnership with the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Robert discussed sports, philanthropy and explained the nonprofits we partner with –Sheridan House, Habitat for Humanity Broward, and Back on My Feet. He also shared why we continue to give as a company and the importance of making a difference in our community.

As a special guest, Nancy Robin, the Habitat Executive Director, called in to speak about the opportunities at Habitat and extended an invitation to all volunteers. Robert also mentioned our exciting new project with Habitat – The BBI Village.

Habitat for Humanity of Broward seeks to put God’s love into action. Habitat brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Habitat Broward offers a “hand up,” not a “hand out,” to families who cannot qualify for conventional home financing but are willing to work hard to improve their family’s lives and achieve the economic empowerment of homeownership.
