This past Sunday, September 7, our BBI team joined the 20th Annual Fire Hero 5K at Hollywood Beach, FL to support the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The race took place along the Broadwalk, with the start and finish at the main stage by Margaritaville Hotel. 15+ BBI associates from our headquarters office, and their guests, ran and walked the flat, fast 3.1-mile course under a stunning sunrise over the ocean.
The post-race award ceremony at the Hollywood Beach Theatre celebrated top runners, firefighters, and the largest team, followed by music and a beachside brunch. All participants received oversized beach towels, and every finisher earned a medal!
One of the most inspiring moments was firefighters racing the 5K in full gear—helmets, jackets, oxygen tanks, boots, and all. Their incredible effort honored fallen heroes and symbolized the strength, dedication, and resilience of the firefighting community. Running a 5k in Florida’s heat and humidity while carrying that extra weight is no small feat, and the crowd cheered and applauded their commitment every step of the way.
Our BBI team brought energy and team spirit, supporting each other, fellow runners, and celebrating everyone’s accomplishments. We’re proud to support this meaningful event, helping honor our nation’s heroes. 100% of proceeds went directly to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
