We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Client Business Manager to lead the day-to-day execution and strategic planning for one of our key clients, a large CPG manufacturer. This role serves as the primary liaison between internal teams and the client, ensuring smooth operations, accurate forecasting, effective communication, and alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate must have prior sales or client relationship experience on either the manufacturer or broker side with food, snack or CPG products. They will be a proactive partner, understanding both the sales and operational aspects of the client's business to help drive performance and growth.
Recipe for Success:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in client management, sales operations, or business planning. Must have related experience in the Food, Snack, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or retail brokerage sectors.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% for meetings and trade shows.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with hands-on experience using TPM-related platforms (SAP or similar) and data analysis tools.
- Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to business planning and performance assessment.
- In-depth knowledge of CPG account management, retail execution strategies, and internal client operations.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels; experience managing administrative teams is a plus.
- Experience in the Specialty and/or Vending channels is a valuable asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and effective problem-solving.
- Highly organized, with proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
Here's a taste of what you will be doing:
Client Partnership & Communication
- Act as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for the client, deeply understanding their goals, challenges, and internal dynamics.
- Coordinate communication across internal teams to ensure unified messaging and consistent execution.
- Support client presentations, promotional calendars, and strategic discussions with relevant data and insights.
- Collaborate daily with senior account leadership on pricing, purchase orders, issue resolution, and long-term planning.
Internal Team Coordination & Oversight
- Manage dedicated administrative staff assigned to the account.
- Provide guidance to Account Executives (AEs) on account-level needs, product tracking, promotional programs, and KPIs.
- Oversee the tracking of product transitions, discontinued SKUs, and allocations that may impact supply and sales performance.
- Monitor and communicate product cuts, allocation limits, and other supply-related issues affecting sales targets.
Forecasting & Sales Strategy
- Lead forecasting and business planning efforts, aligning internal insights with client and retailer data.
- Engage regularly with Account Executives to validate item-level forecasting and ensure readiness for sales cycles.
- Attend customer meetings (e.g., planogram reviews, product line discussions) to provide support and continuity.
TPM & Trade Spend Management
- Oversee Trade Promotion Management (TPM) systems and staff, ensuring accurate entry and tracking of promotions and budgets.
- Maintain compliance with trade spend targets and ensure strategic use of promotional funds across accounts.
- Support deduction resolution, shipment coordination, and account-level financial reconciliation.
Data Tracking & Admin Oversight
- Maintain and update shared SKU files, ensuring proper phasing and alignment with retailer systems and internal inventory planning.
- Budget and track all client-specific events (e.g., trade shows), ensuring financial compliance and value delivery.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) sector, food industry, with a manufacturer or broker environment.

Work Location:
- Must reside in New Jersey. Please note this role is hybrid and will include remote work with regular onsite work at the client office in NJ.
