BBI Weekend Warriors:  Active Advocacy

While the weather around the country might be frightful, South Florida employees took to the beautiful outdoors for some delightful days of fitness and fun. Starting on Friday, February 6, two groups from Burdette Beckmann participated in challenges at both The Ragnar Relay, supporting the Special Olympics and Sheridan House 5K, benefiting the business’ charity partner. BBI’s charity partner, Sheridan House, hosted its annual 5K which was not only sponsored by the company, but supported by our employees. A team of ten took on the challenge in the early morning hours, completing the course in support of the organization dedicated to changing children and family’s lives. Company founders, Robert and Sherry Taylor, cheered on the ladies from the sidelines as they made their way around the 3.1 mile course.

Meanwhile, BBI President, Robert Taylor, and HR/Office Manager, Tania Rivera, participated in a 196 mile marathon known as The Ragnar Relay.  The eight-member team of BBI employees, clients and friendlies took on the challenging 2015 season opener starting Friday morning at Virginia Key. The team wound their way through Miami-Dade Country, Florida City and the Everglades, before making their way down the Overseas Highway towards Key West. During the continuous 36-hour race the team was divided into two vans, working together through the night in order to make it to finish line on Saturday afternoon.
